Bonds (debt securities) are securities that confirm owner’s rights to receive from the emitent bonds in the amount of ,its nominal value or fixed interest. The Emitent publishes in the emission prospect terms, interest rates, collateral and other relevant terms or reach individual agreement with a buyer.


The bonds’ buyer’s risk is that the investment loses value partially or in the amount of the whole invested sum.

 

In order to ensure ever better protection of customer interests and higher market transparency the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MIFID) 2004/39/EK was introduced in the EU in 2007 as well as a range of related normative documents that stipulate new obligations to providers of investment services.
