Family friendly policy of the company – work and life balance

The work/life balance strategy is implemented in several General Electric (GE) companies worldwide by offering employees as many benefits and discounts as possible, introducing flexi-time, taking care of employees – future and current parents. GE Money Bank in Latvia also implements the initiative of family friendly Company.

There is a family room created on the third floor of AS GE Money Bank G. Astras office, in which expectant mothers can relax (there is a sofa and a massage chair) and young parents with small children have a possibility to come to work with their offspring (e.g. in case of problems with a kindergarten or nanny etc.). Parents can work in this room and children can play.

Parents in the company receive possibly more support – holidays and money premiums when pupils of first classes start their school year etc.

In order to facilitate spending free time in an interesting way with families AS GE Money introduced an innovation in Latvia - Gamerary – the library of board and family games for employees, from which games can be borrowed for 2 weeks and returned. There are such family board games available as, for example, the Settlers of Catan, Alias, Scrabble and other, even the world famous game CashFlow.

AS GE Money arranged 10 more such Gameraries, which were donated to the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs – one to be used by the Ministry office employees and 9 for presenting to Game and Development Centres throughout Latvia. The Gamerary contains two types of games – development games for children of pre-school age and educational games intended not only for children but also for adults.

GE Money Bank is always striving for development of the family-friendly policy in the company – to introduce new benefits for employees and to get involved in family friendly events in Latvia.
